I have read all of the books in the Trident Men Series. I love Samantha's writing.. Her alphas are strong Doms but so loving. I was a little hesitant about reading Topping the Alpha. I have never read M/M romance but I so love the characters I had to know what the story would reveal about all of the characters. Jake doesn't believe he will ever be ready for a relationship but he can't seem to get Ian and Devon's youngest brother Nick out of his mind. He doesn't want to risk his relationship with his SEAL brothers and thinks it would be best to avoid Nick. Nick although has other ideas. I liked the fact that although Nick may be a submissive he is not a pushover. He is a strong male figure and I like how the story showed that side of him. Can't wait to see what is next in the series for the Trident Men.Product details

I have become a huge fan of Cole and her Trident Security Series. The men are some of the most alpha males I have had the pleasure of reading. They are loyal, fierce, and just absolutely amazing.
Topping the Alpha is one of my favorite M/M I have read. The details of Cole's storytelling abilities are some of the very best I have discovered. What an amazing storyline and this story is so very well written. I fell in love with this series ❤ I will HIGHLY recommend this book and series to my friends ❤ I need the next book now!! ❤ 📚 😃
I will start out by saying that I am not a huge fan or M/M books and was a little sad when I saw from the series where this one would go. Since I am a huge Samantha Cole fan I bought the book and read it. I have no idea why I ever doubted Samantha. Seriously. No idea. This book is sexy and touching and honestly an inspiration. It is so heartwarming how tough ex-SEALS don't care about someones sexual orientation or desire to dominate or submit. It is such an incredible book. Honestly will say this is one of my favorites in the Trident Series.
I enjoyed this read and finished it in one sitting. I have enjoyed every book in this series and this one has continued the trend. I’m not entirely comfortable with all the BDSM stuff in this series, but the military/mystery part of the book has me wrapped around its little finger and I love getting to know everyone’s personal story. They seem like real life people, even though they are not. I completely recommend this series; although, I definitely recommend starting from the beginning. While each book is a stand-alone and has a HEA (so far) they just make much more sense when read in order.
That being said this author's work is more nuanced than the genre label indicates. This book is a favorite amongst Trident Security fans not just because of the hot and vivid scenes but because the leads are both fully realized men, not to mention strong and beautiful.
There is some heroism and action in the plot line aside from the love story between Nick and Jake. It is a love story, these two are meant for each other; but first Nick has to fight for what he wants. And it's fun to watch him win Jake over.
Jake finally finds the healing and happiness he deserves but not without a struggle.
You don't need to read these books in order. I haven't. But story lines and characters do run through the series so, if you can, I recommend reading them all in order.
This is far and away my favorite in the Trident series. Two HOT men - it doesn't get better. Series readers meet Jake in "Leather and Lace" and get to know him better in "His Angel," but this is his book, and his coming to terms with Nick Sawyer's determination to pursue a relationship with him, rather than writing off their one night, is heartwarming and, well, hot. Of all Samantha A. Cole's books, this is the one in which we get to meet the main character most intimately - his gentle kindness with Alyssa, his professionalism and purpose in the field, and his Dom sexiness.
An M/M BDSM story, it ticks every box. You don't need to have read any of the other series books; Cole never leaves you confused.

Jake gave in one no to temptation and takes Nick. With his past haunting him, he tries to push him away but can't. He demands that Nick come out to his family though before they go further. While Jake and Nick are making out, Ian walks in. While Ian is going off, he thinks it is because he is upset about him being gay, definitely not. Ian sets him straight. Now to just tell his other brother and parents even though they already know.
Jake is still worried but they are thrown together on case and he needs to work through that first. When the case is over though, he knows he needs to man up.
I have fallen in love with this series. All these strong alpha men falling for their sassy subs and doling out their punishments. Can't wait to see which alpha falls next.
I spent a good portion of this book with a fan and a tall glass of ice water. Jake and Nick are hot. I will state upfront that this book is not for everyone. It is an m/m novel but it is very well written, tastefully done, hotter than Hades, and is in direct line with the other books in this series. Jake has a lot of obstacles including his family and his past although they all know he is gay, he doesn’t realize the hold the past has on him or how it affected others. He has to come to terms with the past. Nick is the baby brother of the owners of Trident and still active duty living on the opposite coast. Jake is helping a teenager he had helped before and Nick is watching his back. I recommend this book to anyone longing for an adventure and action packed read with lots of hot men.
